The 74th Republic Day was celebrated at The Punjab Public School, Nabha with great enthusiasm. The proceedings got underway with the arrival of Headmaster Dr DC Sharma at the Headmaster’s Green at 9.00 am. All the three wings of the NCC were in attendance. He unfurled the national tri-colour and inspected the guard of honour. The scene shifted to the Pavate Hall. Hargun Buttar, Sohana Ahmed and Surkhab Kaur expressed their thoughts on the relevance of the day in English, Hindi and Punjabi respectively. Shravanti Lama conducted the event. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sharma emphasised the importance of practising the core values as enshrined in the Constitution.
On this occasion, 15 girl students from Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) who are on PPS campus for the Domestic Intercultural Exchange Program under the aegis of AFS India performed Ghoomar, the traditional folk dance of Rajasthan.
