Clara Perret winds up AFS Cultural Exchange

Clara Perret said goodbye to PPS on August 11, 2021 after successfully completing her Cultural Exchange under the aegis of AFS. She arrived on PPS campus in December 2020. She hails from Bernay, Eure, France. She visited PPS at a time when the pandemic was raging globally. In spite of this, she made her stay on the campus fruitful by engaging herself in many activities. She took up Humanities Stream and studied English, Hindi, Political Science, Sociology, Geography and Psychology. She picked up a smattering of Vedic Mathematics as well.
Clara explored Indian culture in its multifarious dimensions. She learnt a lot about Indian religions, especially Hinduism and Sikhism. She visited Gurudwaras and temples. She took interest in Indian cuisine and learnt how to make chai, aloo parantha, pooris, daal roti, mango shake, and even learnt how to bake cookies and croissant.
She took some time out and visited bazaars in Patiala and shopped Indian suits, juttis, jewellery and got mehandi on her hands. She visited the famous Baradari garden, a stone crusher factory and even hilly areas in the vicinity.
She is quite a sporty character. She tried her hand at carom, chess and skating. Besides, she learnt rules of cricket.
She was able to gel extremely well with her host teachers Ms Sapna Gill, Ms Swarjot Kaur, Ms Ishmeet Singh and Ms Ridhima Sharma.
During her stay at PPS, she exhibited high standards of impeccable conduct and mannerism. She was a great inspiration to all her friends.
In a brief ceremony in the Headmaster’s Office, Clara was given a token of love and gratitude by Headmaster Mr Ajay Singh. He wished her well in her future endeavours.
