The 70th Independence Day was celebrated at The Punjab Public School, Nabha with great fervour and enthusiasm. Boys and girls gathered at the Headmaster’s Green quite early in the morning. The proceedings got underway with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Mr Garry Everett, Deputy Headmaster, The Punjab Public School, Nabha at 07.00 a.m. All the three wings of the NCC were in attendance. Mr Garry Everett unfurled the national tri-colour to the delight of everyone present and inspected the Guard of Honour. Rehat Kaur and Annika Rai expressed their thoughts on the relevance of the day in English and Hindi respectively. Two patriotic songs-Vande Matram and Aye Mere Payare Vatan by the students of the Junior School lent a new feel to the atmosphere. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Everett exhorted the youth to work towards removing poverty, starvation and injustice from our land. Mr NS Deol, Head, Junior Wing was also present. It was followed by tree plantation by the NCC cadets.
