Day 1 – Opening Ceremony, Keynote Address, Art Workshop and Punjabi Potpourri !

The Punjab Public School Round Square Conference got underway with the formal opening ceremony at Pavate Hall in the morning. The theme of conference is Greatness Out Of Small Things- De Parvis Grandis Acervus Erit. 19 schools from the country and overseas are participating in the three day long conference. The proceedings started with the lightning of lamp. Students of PPS presented a classical dance, Dasavtar. It was followed by the Flag March Ceremony. Students from Jivan Jyoti School for Special Children, Nabha gave a dance performance in the colourful attire. Chief guest for the Ceremony Mr AP S Virk, Deputy Commissioner Sangrur addressed the gathering and sent out a strong message to over 200 delegates to take up the responsibility of looking after every segment of the society as their age is the apt launchpad for the future. Headmaster Dr Jagpreet Singh presented a token of deeply felt love and gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Guest and urged the students to make the best possible use of the eventful three days.

Keynote Speaker for the day was Col Karaminder Singh, Secretary of the Society for the Welfare of the Handicapped who enlightened the students about the duties they need to take up in their future and stressed on the significant difference a smile can bring in someone’s life. Sharing his anecdotes and struggles he faces in day to day affairs, he appealed to the young minds to take up the initiative to bring a positive change in the future. The talk was followed by interactive question answer session. Headmaster proposed vote of thanks and called upon the delegates to be a drop in the ocean and make a difference in the time to come.
After the talk, delegates were all geared up for the Baraza sessions. Baraza delegates (Hope, Service, Compassion, Empathy, Kindness and many more) had a brainstorming session. 
Second half of the day witnessed Art Wokshop- Putting the Pieces Together which embodied how small things when put together make a big difference. 
The day came to an end with Headmaster’s Punjab Potpourri: A Cultural Gala where the delegates from all over enjoyed the infectious Punjabi Music.
