The opening ceremony of ICT Conclave (Version 2.0) hosted by The Public Public School, Nabha took place this morning with Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma, VSM (Retd) gracing the occasion as Chief Guest. The ceremony started with lightning of lamp. Girls from PPS Nabha performed Sarasvati Vandana. In his address to the gathering, Maj Gen Varma, VSM (Retd) dwelt at length on the revolution technology has brought in our lives. He also urged the Technophiles participating in the conclave to devise machines to meet the demands of rapidly changing world. He wished everyone all the best for the Conclave. School Head Master Dr Jagpreet Singh, presented a token of deeply felt love and gratitude to the Chief Guest. Dr Jagpreet Singh welcomed all the 13 visiting teams and wished them a happy stay ahead. It was followed by Day Long Robo Workshops. The evening witnessed Lecture by Mr Mandeep Singh, Assistant Professor Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology Patiala. With data sharing and data leaks becoming a rampant feature, he contemplated on the challenges and fears which lie ahead with the use of technology in every sphere of our life. His talk urged the young technophiles to think critically as to how the shortcuts or Jugaad – the flexible approach to problem solving can be used as an innovation in entrepreneurship. Dr Jagpreet Singh thanked the keynote speaker and summed up the session by sending out a strong message to use the technology but not to depend on it.
