The prestigious and much awaited JK KATE MEMORIAL ALL INDIA INTER SCHOOL KNOWLEDGE CONCLAVE: ENGLISH DEBATE, QUIZ, CREATIVE WRITING,BOOK REVIEW,SPELL BEE,STORY TELLING kicked off successfully. With a record number of 19 teams participating, the participants were enthusiastic, eager to compete and take home trophies along with memories. First day witnessed the prelims of Quiz and Spell Bee in which all 19 teams participated and six would qualify for the finale to be held tomorrow and day after respectively. The evening comprised of JAM and Turncoat session. Mr P P S Gill, an old student and former Punjab State Information Commissioner was the chief guest for opening ceremony. He went down the memory lane, fondly remembered all his teachers and credited his success to his alma mater. He also emphasised on the importance of reading newspapers and using dictionaries more in our daily life to improve language and debating skills. Dr Bhavvna Arora, author of two bestselling books was the Guest of Honour. She gave a strong message of never giving up in life and always being hopeful. Sharing her anecdotes of how she turned out to be a successful author after having faced rejection, she truly motivated the youngsters to pursue their dreams.
