Glimpses and Highlights
Hills and writers have a special and mystical connection, one of its kind. Book lovers, budding journalists, young writers will agree to this. Seven students participated in the Khushwant Singh Lit Fest organized by his friends and family. The Inaugural address by former Union Minister Arun Shourie deliberated on ‘How to Recognise Rulers for who they are’ got the ball rolling for the day. Extremely lively session coupled with sharing anecdotes of K S kept the audience glued. It was followed by another panel discussion featuring Neelima Dalmia on Insights of India at 70.
The focus shifted quickly on the following session comprising of the elite panelists such as Shobha De, Divya Dutta, Amrita Narayanan, Art Historian Dr Alka Pande to name a few.
Ashok Chopra in a candid conversation with Shobha De about her upcoming book 70’s and to Hell with it kept the huge gathering on the edge of their seats and left them asking for more.
Padma Shri and many other awards to his credit, famous poet and author of ‘A Suitable Boy’ exchanged some memorable anecdotes.
Former Diplomat and an articulate K C Singh modulated the talk on Curious History of India’s Relations with Pakistan. The day concluded with ‘Khamosh’ by Shatrughan Sinha.
7 students participated in Essay Writing and Poster Making Competition. Sanjam Sandhu won Consolation Prizes in Poster Making.
Annika Rai bagged second position in Essay Writing.
