A lecture was organised on Breast Cancer in the famed Pavate Hall on August 23, 2016 by Ms Bittu Safeena Sandhu, the founder of Rani Breast Cancer Trust. The trust was founded in the memory of Ms Sandhu’s sister who suffered from the same disease. Dwelling at length on the topic, Ms Sandhu said there were 90-100 per cent chances of survival if the disease is detected in the initial stages. Hence, the awareness about the disease is an absolute necessity. Sharing vital statistics with the audience, she said a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes globally. It was indeed a very informative, inspirational and emotional lecture. In the end, the girls were taught how to self-test for any symptoms of the disease. Dr Jagpreet Singh, Headmaster, The Punjab Public School, Nabha and Mr Garry Everett, Deputy Headmaster were present on the occasion.
