The much awaited and prestigious KSLF kicked off with the formal opening ceremony by Rahul Singh, son of the legendary Khushwant Singh. Kishwar Desai moderated the session fondly remembering Khushwant Singh setting tone for the day. It was followed by a highly energetic, dynamic and informative session with Mr A S Dullat, former chief of RAW as panellist. Mark Tully, the famous correspondent shared about his experiences in India. Maja Daruwala, daughter of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw spoke about the challenges, reforms in Indian workplace. The other sessions with people from distinguished walks of life also debated about the MeToo movement in India. The evening concluded with the power packed session moderated by Mr Kanwar Sandhu with Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu Minister of Local Government, Tourism, Cultural Affairs, and Museums of the State of Punjab and Kishwar Desai. The session dwelt at length about the indomitable spirit of Punjab and Punjabis, Indo-Pak relations, the much in news Sidhu’s ‘hug’ across the border. Mr Sidhu kept the audience hooked with his couplet laden oratorical skills and took on questions from the audience. The event was compered by Ms Gitanjali Aiyar, the pioneer in women journalism. The students also participated in Joy of Learning Competitions.
