Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the 1999 Batch
The Silver Jubilee celebrations of the 1999 Batch unfolded with grandeur and nostalgia on November 28, 2024, at the Junior Wing of The Punjab Public School, Nabha. The reunion commenced with a warm reception at Malkani Hall, where registration began at 10:00 a.m., setting the tone for a memorable two-day event. Over tea, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma delivered a heartfelt welcome address, evoking a deep sense of pride and belonging among the returning alumni.
The day brimmed with joy as the alumni embarked on a nostalgic tour, revisiting the Junior Boarding Houses, Swimming Pool, Girls’ Hostel, and Stables. The journey continued through the Science Block, Cambridge Block, Historical Section, Library, Art Room, Sham Bagh, and the state-of-the-art Multi-Facility Sports Complex, sparking fond memories of their formative years. A sumptuous lunch at the iconic JK Kate Dining Hall further enriched the day’s camaraderie.
In a symbolic gesture of growth and continuity, saplings were planted in the serene Headmaster’s Green, marking their enduring connection to the institution. The moment was immortalized with a group photograph, capturing the spirit of togetherness and celebration.
The afternoon’s special assembly proved to be a highlight of the day, featuring R-0073 Avtar Singh Sidhu (ICSE 1999) as the keynote speaker. A distinguished alumnus, Mr Sidhu recounted his inspiring journey from Nabha to Ontario, Canada, where he now serves as a Physician Assistant, managing Rural Narcotic Emergency Clinics. His words resonated deeply, embodying the transformative power of education and determination.
The festivities carried into the second day with a spirited cricket match on the Main Fields. The 1999 Batch showcased their enduring teamwork and competitive spirit, triumphing over the present students by chasing a target of 75 runs in just 8 overs with 3 wickets down. The day concluded with tea on the picturesque Main Fields, as laughter and shared memories lingered in the air.
