All India 54th IPSC Athletics Meet for Boys & Girls (U-19) came to a grand finale at The Punjab Public School, Nabha on October 25, 2017. In Boys’ Section, The Punjab Public School, Nabha emerged winners. Sri Dasmesh Academy, Anandpur Sahib were the runners-up. Jaswant Singh from PPS was adjudged the Best Athlete. In Girls’ Section, The Lawrence School, Lovedale, Ooty emerged winners with MNSS, Rai being the runners-up. Khushbeen Kaur Waraich from Yadavindra Public School, Patiala and Harshika Waraich from Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai were adjudged the Best Athletes of the tournament. March Past trophy was shared between Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun and Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior. A record number of 400 athletes from 28 schools took part in the 3-day event. While PPS lifted the trophy for the sixth time in a row, The Lawrence School, Ooty registered its seventh consecutive win. Capt AJ Singh, Principal & Executive Director, Pinegrove School, Dharampur was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Capt AJ Singh said such events are more about making a strong character. Sharing anecdotes of his budding years at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, he said acting one’s part well is the key to real happiness. Dr Jagpreet Singh, Headmaster, The Punjab Public School gave Capt AJ Singh a token of deeply felt love and gratitude. Mr OS Thakur, Dean of Sports (DOS) proposed a vote of thanks.
