“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”

Seven (7) students from The Punjab Public School participated in an interactive Round Square Virtual Conference hosted by SAI International School, Odisha and a few other schools on May 6, 2021. They comprised Arpit Singh, Guwinder Singh, Anureet Kaur, Jagnoor Boparai, Jashanjot Singh Khurana, Jasveer Singh and Sewak Ghuman. The theme of the symposium was “Service in Action”. About 325 delegates along with their RS Reps from eleven (11) countries took part in it. The keynote speaker was Mr Sujit Mahapatra, Founder, Bakul Foundation, a movement for volunteerism in India. Mr Mahapatra, who is a volunteer by profession, shared his thought-provoking ideas touching on the need to volunteer and how little acts of service can bring a quality change in society. It was followed by breakouts for different barazas appropriately named Do it, Fix it, Make it, Teach it, Donate and Volunteer. The delegates in their respective blocks were supposed to make a presentation on the service activity done in their respective schools. The delegates from PPS made a presentation on the service project undertaken by Prayaas, the social initiative of the school which aims at providing quality education to the children of the support staff. Last but not least, the session ended on a positive note with presentations by baraza leaders sharing ideas on how service can be rendered in these challenging times.
