59th IPSC Athletics Meet concludes at PPS
The 59th All India IPSC (U-19) Athletics Meet for Boys & Girls came to a grand finale on the campus of The Punjab Public School today. 341 athletes from 18 prestigious public schools of the country took part in the 3-day event showing exemplary sportsmanship. Mr Paramjit Singh Goraya, IPS (Retd) presided over the closing ceremony.
In Boys’ Section, The Doon School, Dehradun lifted the IPSC Athletics Trophy with Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun being the runners-up. In Girls’ Section, MNSS, Rai lifted the IPSC Athletics Trophy with The Daly College, Indore being the runners-up.
The award for the Best Athlete (Boys) was bagged by Udathveer Pasricha from The Doon School, Dehradun. The award for the Best Athlete (Girls) was bagged by Pooja Bishnoi from RKKGPS, Jodhpur. The March Past Trophy was lifted by Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Mr Paramjit Singh Goraya, IPS (Retd) complimented the Headmaster, staff and students of PPS for having undertaken the mammoth exercise in such a hassle-free manner. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma profusely thanked Mr Goraya for sparing some time to be with the athletes. He gave the chief guest a token of deeply felt love and gratitude. Finally, he expressed his gratitude to the officials from NSNIS, Patiala for the smooth conduct of the events.
