The noted Indian classical violinist Mr Johar Ali Khan gave a live performance at PPS on the occasion of Teachers’ Day under the aegis of SPIC MACAY (the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth). He was assisted by Mr Umair Khan on the tabla. It was an interactive session involving basic understanding of ragas and introduction to the richness of music and culture of every state of India. The students put their queries to Mr Khan and he answered them to their satisfaction. He played some tunes on the violin on popular demand. Speaking on the occasion, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma expressed his gratitude to Mr Khan for demonstrating how music can be used as a medium to educate students. Dr Sharma felicitated Mr Johar Ali Khan, Mr Umair Khan, Coordinator SPIC MACAY (Punjab) Dr Sangita B Kushwaha and the alumnus of PPS Shri Navin Talwar.
