Mr Gordon hangs up his various hats

Mr BR Gordon, a jovial and convivial face of PPS, formally retired today after a dedicated service of 18 long years. In a brief ceremony, Mr Gordon was given a silver plaque along with Citation in the Headmaster’s Office. Mr Ajay Singh, Headmaster acknowledged his contribution in the growth of the school. Dr Rakesh Alfred, Deputy Headmaster and Dr Ankur Samuel Birkett, Bursar were present on the occasion.

Bertram Russel Gordon, popularly known as Berty, joined The Punjab Public School, Nabha as an English master on April 5, 2002 in the Junior Wing. He was appointed the Housemaster of Junior Ravi House in October 2002. Due to his spirited performance in the Junior Wing, he was elevated to the Senior Wing in 2004. In addition to his teaching assignment, he was appointed Assistant Housemaster and then Housemaster of Senior Ravi House for 7 long years.
Mr Gordon’s expertise and knowledge of the subject was commendable. His passion for teaching and his commitment to the cause of education won him accolades. He carried out his duties and responsibilities with utmost sincerity, dedication and commitment.
Mr BR Gordon was awarded Dronacharya Award in 2012 for his excellence in teaching. As a versatile individual, he participated in all the spheres of school activities. His loving, calm demeanour endeared him to his colleagues and students.
Given his flair for theatre and zeal for experimentation and innovation, Mr BR Gordon was appointed the Dean of Cultural Activities (DCA). The school benefited a lot from his rich experience of dance, drama and creative pursuits of all hues and colours. Various intra and inter-school activities such as musical shows, dance and English plays organised and directed by him brought laurels to the school. He also carved a niche for himself as an excellent commentator during cricket matches held on the campus.
Mr BR Gordon is happily married to Mrs Milred Gordon working with Apple School, Dubai. His daughter Sharon Maria Gordon, a Nabhaite, is working for Barracuda Marketing, UAE. She is doing well in her life at the moment.
As he begins a new phase in his post-retirement life, we wish Mr Gordon and his family the very best of luck and a highly successful life ahead.
